It is the center of the night in a provincial town on the eve of the annual Scarecrow Festival. An infamous nearby serial executioner has broken away from a jail transport and obviously taken a van. The chairman is frightened on the grounds that the town will be topping off with guests for the celebration: “This town should abandon him in the past.” The police head and his agent head off waiting to pounce.
This is a standard setup for an awfulness picture. All relies on how well it is finished. “Munger Road” makes a powerful, adroit showing of crowd control utilizing the strategies of dimness and weakness, and the genuine truth that a loathsomeness not perceived is very nearly dependably scarier than one you can see.
